Red Sky at Morning...

Woke up to a beautiful sunrise Tuesday. And true to the rhyme, we had a major storm that night. The good news - we finally have had enough rainfall that the governor has been able to lift the burning ban. Campfires, here we come!

Signs of Spring

One of the nice things about living in Virginia is that we get spring pretty early around here. The daffodils have been up for about 3 weeks now. The trees are budding, too. We should have tulips in no time!

Got Cookies?

Girl Scout cookie season is winding down for us. We still have about 50 boxes of cookies to get rid of, I mean, to sell to deserving customers. If you'd like to skip the cookies, but still support the girls, you can donate to our Gift of Caring. The girls chose For Kids, a local homeless shelter, to make their donation to.

Leap!

In honor of leap day, I took a few shots of the kids at school "leaping". Some caught on, others tried a hop or two. These are 2 of my favorites!

Puppy Love

Our friends got a new puppy, a chocolate lab, named Irey. I got a new photo prop, a giant polka dot tea cup. Could I possibly get them together? It proved to be harder than I thought. 8 week old puppies do not stay still. At all. I have about 50 shots of her with her nose in the teacup, chasing after a treat. This is pretty much the only one where she is actually sitting in it. She's a cutie, though!

Birds!

Flash mobs are one of the latest pop culture fads - like this one in Grand Central Station http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwMj3PJDxuo

Well, I think the birds in my neighborhood had the idea in the first place. They all descend on the lawn, hang for a few minutes, then, fly off as one. This is a pic of a few of them at the snack bar in the backyard.

Uni-Boy

Back in December, I asked Kyle the age old question, "What do you want for Christmas?"

I was a bit surprised when he answered, "How about a unicycle?"

"That's a little out of the box," I replied.

But, sure enough, there was a unicycle under the tree on Christmas morning. It turns out, he's pretty good at it!

Challenging Myself

On a message board I frequent (2peasinabucket) there is a 21 day challenge going on. It's been said that it takes 21 days to break (or make!) a habit. 2 peas is challenging it's readers to make or break a habit over the next 21 days. Of course, I have no bad habits (cough, cough), so I've decided to create a new habit. I'm challenging myself to post on my blog for 21 days. Now, the actual challenge started on March 1st. Today is the 3rd. Oh, well, I'll do three posts today and call it good. Each post will start with an inspirational quote, provided by 2 peas. Hope you enjoy!
