Lancaster Quilt Show Part 2: The Quilts

Here, in no particular order, are some of my favorites from the show. Most were from the Modern Quilt Challenge. Enjoy!

Lancaster Quilt Show Part I

Last weekend I drove up to the AQS show with a few friends. I had two things on my agenda: buy some "good" thread and find the ultimate Flying Geese template. I visited a few thread booths, got totally confused to the point that I had thread paralysis, and bought none. And I couldn't find a single flying geese making template. Not one. Sigh.

The fabric selection was so so at this show. A few of my favorite vendors were noticeably absent. It's not like there wasn't great fabric. There was. But, I wanted great fabric at a great price. I had to really search.  I wanted some cute text fabric and some "low volume" fabric. Nothing. Double sigh. So, instead of coming home empty handed, heaven forbid, I did some stash building with some black/white and some red/white bundles. Cute, useful fabric at a great  okay price.

And in the impulse buying department, I bought at iron. Total peer pressure. All of my friends were buying them. They were classroom samples and they were down to the last two and I didn't want to miss out. So, I bought one. The draw? Cordless! I've been using it for a few days. Feeling on the fence about it. But, it was a great buy at only $30.

Stay tuned for Part 2, where I get to the quilts!
