Modern Log Cabin Quilting

It's no secret, I'm a huge fan of the public library system. Especially when I can get the latest quilting books hot off the press. I picked up Modern Log Cabin Quilting by Susan Beal last week. There's a lot to like in this book. First of all, it's really pretty. The photography is enticing, but even the pages are decorative - each chapter has it's own border on the pages. Susan gives a good history of the log cabin, and how it's made it's way into the modern quilting world.

With 10 quilt patterns and 15 projects, I'm sure I'll be renewing this again and again. What I also like is that she mixes up her fabrics, like showcasing "modern" fabric next to up cycled corduroy. Denim even pops up every now and then. Of course, my favorite is the Vintage Linen Quilt.
It's hard to resist starting this beauty right now.
Must. Not. Start. New. Project.

So, check it out - literally!
